Not an income tax?

Income tax won’t be used to fund health insurance system, says Attride-Stirling 

The quote?

“It’s not going to be income tax,” she reiterated. “We could have different categories for different sectors of the adult population.

“It could be, for employed people, that they pay eight percent of their salary"

What, on top of the 15% we already pay on our salary, plus the 25% or more we pay on everything else?
I’m all in favour of universal healthcare, but not when it costs more and delivers less than private programs. Plus, we don’t have the money, the government has already wasted it all. Better to find the money first, then think about other things.
